Mangla Lake & Fort

Mangla dam is listed among the biggest dams in the world. Here we have some snapshots of Mangla Lake. It has a beautiful view from the Mirpur side and a wonderful location for boating as well as fishing. Mangla Dam has located about 37km from Dina and is approximately a 2.30hr drive from Islamabad. The dam is very close to the city of Mirpur, the view of the dam is really beautiful, especially during June and July when a dam is full after the melting of snow. It has an eye-catching view, especially at the time of sunset it gives a mesmerizing view.

 Along with mangla lake, Mangla is the site of the historic Mangla Fort. Mangla fort is an old fort but is now located just next to the main embankment of mangla dam. It is located on a cliff just next to the dam spillway on a high hill overlooking the Jhelum river, dividing the Mirpur and Jhelum districts. A part of Mangla fort was razed during the construction of the Mangla Dam, however, a large part remains and serves as a public recreation place. Visitors who come across the world to explore the beauty of Azad Kashmir visit this place and capture this beautiful place with their cameras.

Ramkot Fort

Ramkot Fort is an ancient fort in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir the best resort place for people who want to explore the ancient things of Kashmir. Fort is Constructed By Rani Mangla Of Raja Porus Katoch. It is located on the edges of the Mangla Dam. It is surrounded on three sides by the Jhelum river. Fort has a magnificent view of the mangla dam. It is under Pakistan Army control and a boat ride is highly recommended to view the entire area. Due to its peculiar architecture, the Ramkot Fort is distinct among fortresses built in the Kashmir region. How to Reach there?

To approach the fort, you have to take a boat from the water sports club at the Mangla Dam, which, after an almost A 10-minute ride would reach the northern extremity of the reservoir. Here, you will find a gigantic fort structure located on the summit of the hill. A short but steep climb uphill takes you to the fort. Most people visit this fort because of its amazing historical background and mesmerizing view.
